Why don't we just work on going to/colonizing Venus?

It's closer than Mars, and even if it's a little hotter, we could live in air conditioned portable buildings. It would also be easier to get o2 generators there and in 100 years it may be just like Earth.

the government doesnt want you to know about the advanced civilization that lives there

hottest planet in the solar system... doesnt seem a good idea.
its rather distant from the goldilocks zone, mars is basically borderline, its a far safer bet (especially since the sun is getting hotter, which favours mars, and makes venus an even worse choice in the long term)

Never mind the saturated sulphuric acid in the atmosphere, I'm sure it'll be fine.

>> No.3992214

why not mercury??

we could more easily study the sun from there

Not for at least a hundred years.

Why don't we colonize the sun?
It's much bigger, so we won't have the overpopulation problem there.

Crash venus and mars together. We will end up wiyh the perfect sized planet in the perfect position from the sun

That's why we will do planetary bombardment with baking soda before landing.
