Hey /sci/
theres a particle thats actually faster than the speed of light and sound.
which proves einstine was wrong with his theory of e=mc2..

>> No.3914686

If it was faster than sound that doesn't necessarily mean its slower than light,
fucking idiot.

no, there is no particle like that.

Actually that's not true if you read the fucking paper, which the people who proposed that theory clearly did not. The time was not measured via satellite but by groundlink (independently verified as well), and they made the necessarily calculations and took into effect the dilation between the two points.

Sorry, but current experimental evidence truly does point towards neutrinos being faster than light.

Yes but a particle faster than light necessarily implies a particle faster than sound.

It would be like saying I'm smarter than you and a rock. Being smarter than a rock implies that I'm smarter than you, it doesn't need not be included.

Would there be sound on a ship going faster than light?

E=mc², c means max speed, so you can't use neutrino's velocity

>> No.3914790

We've been expecting and even hoping to find something like this experiment, and more testing of these neutrino velocities is needed.

I'm all for refinements to relativity, but we don't toss out the whole thing because of one anomaly. It's still the most reliable means we have for making accurate predictions about time and motion.

Our theories about gravity have been stuck for decades in a similar situation where they break down under special circumstances, and now there might be something odd going on with the speed of light.

Perhaps the two are even related.
