Met this guy ~ 1 month ago, probably one of the most charismatic physicists I've ever met. Spoke to him about CDM theory and how the theory he's worked on for a huge portion of his life might all be wrong, it was pretty sad but he was chill about it.

itt: well cited physicists you've met and spoken to

Also: Brian Cox

Thread is open to other respectable fields of science too, it would be nice hearing from you biologists.

Yes,OP. It's okay to have anal intercourse with him. Just remember to say "no homo" afterwards.

the most famous physics person I heard speaking was Murray Gell-Mann, but not to me personally.

>> No.3881188

you guys are insanely lucky to meet up with physicists who have actually contributed to the field...

i'm surrounded by douchebag professors who /WISH/ they have made a dent in science.

3 Quarks for Muster Mark.

Nice.

michio kakau is coming to my uni thursday. i'm gonna ask him why he chose a soft popsci science like astrophysics instead of biology. (bonus points if you can find out the university i go to)

I am so Gelly.

Also how did Richard "diss" you?

I met and talked to David Attenborough once, only for a minute or so.

The Gell-Mann talk wasn't too good. The guy is >9000 years old and hat problems with power point and stuff. Also, somewhat wrong audience. Biologists mainly. He was talking about generalized entropies in a non-biology-friendly style.

But maybe this makes you a little jelly:
Last semester, I made out with a cute blonde, leaning the door of Boltzmanns office. (I'm from vienna btw., we still have professors who made their doctors supervised by Schrödinger)

ah, and Stallman dissed more or less everyone. All the questions had it coming - proably not enough communist spirit
