/sci/, I'm an Idiot,I acknowledge that. But I'd like to not be,at least not to the extent I currently am. But I'm stuck because as much as I want to become an autodidactic learner, I don't know where to start.

So, /sci/ what is the foundation I should start my self-education on?

>yes,I've got the link in the sticky bookmarked.

Also, anyone know anything about Trivium? I can't find much information on it.

Was thinking the same thing.

I have a question, completely unrelated, but I cbf making a separate thread and spamming people. If Carl Sagan was so awesome, how come he sued Apple for internally naming one of their computers after him? It seems like a dick move to me, especially when it was a sign of admiration.

What are you even interested in learning? What do you already know?

You could learn programming for example, if you think you'd be interested in that. If you just want to learn a lot of stuff, but on a low level without actually developing a new skill, just watching some documentaries and reading a couple of general pop-science books might be enough.

It sounds like you just want to have some general knowledge, and I hear a good start for that would be reading Bill Bryson's "A short history of nearly everything".

General knowledge is what I'm looking for yes,Thank you.

I would specialize in something, but nothing ever holds my interest for more than a few months.

I would watch documentaries and read a lot. If your interested in economics (it's not really a science but hey, still interesting) I would watch Milton Friedman's 1980 series 'Free to Choose'. A cool book I read the other day is by Gordon Correra called 'Shopping for Bombs' (about the Pakistani guy who spread nuclear weapons all over the world). Watch Carl Sagan. Google physics videos (Sixty Symbols is good). Follow blogs. Look at the sticky again. Listen to podcasts (EconTalk is a good economics one). Watch the news (unless it's American news)

Basically google everything you don't understand, and use everything you see as an opportunity to google more things. The information you can know about accessing increases exponentially this way.

Thanks.

That's pretty much what I'm doing now,but thanks for the recommendations. I do currently watch some Sagan stuff.

retaining information is an issue for me though, perhaps where I should start is learning various study methods?

OP - go to university , you won't just learn the subject faster, but will also get a chance to meet like-minded people and form connection that'll last a lifetime.
