Organic chemistry is harder than any kind of physical chemistry.

I don't see difficulty in the title?

Besides, Organic is only difficult because parrots take it and do well. The same guy that gets the C- in Organic Chemistry goes on to get the class high on our Inorganic Test. The same people are involved taking both tests... you do the math.

Even once you've learnt the basic reactions you're meant to know, the kind of questions that can be asked still require far more steps of abstraction in terms of problem solving than physical or inorganic questions.

Organic is the equivalent of being told how to cut a piece of wood to a certain length, and how to nail two piece of wood together, then being asked to construct a trebuchet.

>mfw this retard doesnt know the nobel prize in chemistry when to an Organic chemist last year

>mfw this retard generalizes about entire sub-genres of chemistry when all that really matters is the quality and overall value of the research you are doing, not the fucking type it is.

last year was 2010.
mfw the majority of the discovery was in organometallics.
organic chemistry was the byproduct.

i had some great organic profs. no parroting. you had to figure out mechanisms and shit on exams on the fly based on principles you were supposed to have internalized. you had to laugh at all the premeds going "shit, he never taught us this"
