How hard is the GRE?

Is getting 800 quant hard? Whats average study time ppl put into it..im pretty decent at calc and stats, and my verbal is nice

What subject?

Anything other than physics is ok. Physics is a monster.

Oh shit you meant general, my bad.

It's easy as shit.

I didn't get my exact score yet, but based on last year's results it would be in the 750-800 bracket.

I went through the practice text book once. I hope my essays are alright. I really pulled those out of my ass.

You think Maths is ok? How on earth are you supposed to work out the order of the smallest non abelian simple group within the time constraints?

The new GRE with the fill in the blank is gay. Fucking long division on time constraints. I got an 800 on my SAT so it shouldn't be too bad, but I'm worried about this new test. Apparently now it goes from 130 to 170 so theres no more "durr 15% of test takers get 800".

I'm really glad they took out antonyms and analogies and are doing more reading comprehension. It was a fucking vocab test before.

I don't know. The way things are now you have to choose a word that "best completes the sentence".

And of course more than one work.

800 quant, 920 physics, average verbal, here.

Take some fucking practice tests and you'll know where you stand. It was pretty cinchy... something like 1/6 people get 800, and that's including social sciences and lower-tier-college tards. If you were in calc in high school you probably got the brains to ace it.

I was pretty consistent with my physics gre scores. I got around 930-950 on the 4 practice tests. I just went through my old lower-division physics book Haliday & Resnick beforehand. Took about a month to make a formula sheet and complete all the conceptual and 1 star problems. I suggest trying to get all your studying done 1 month in advance of the test, then take the remaining time to review what you studied and taking practice tests.
