Someday, I'm going to be a teacher. But not just a teacher of a concrete subject, I'm going to teach whatever I believe kids should know about: metric system, how to write a resume that doesn't suck, the importance of being smart, why they should be more applied at math and sciences and most importantly how to think for themselves, and many other topics. Not to make them atheist, but to make them better (and more smarter) beings.

I believe this kind of classes should be given in all elementary and high schools at least once a week.

Middleschool teacher here.

Been there, done that.
The fuckers won't learn, they're brainwashed beyond the point of recovery.
The dominating factor is and always will be, their parents. You may have 1 or 2 lucky ones that may "get it", but those are so rare it's not worth the time at all.
I understand what you're trying to do and that your passionate about it, but believe me when I say that it will be in vain.

That's, like, the worst time. They've been indoctrinated quite a bit by then, unlike in elementary school where they're still fresh, and they DO NOT WANT TO LEARN, unlike in later high school where at least some are in it for the learning.
