I used to do the same thing, then I realized the chances of fb posts getting attention are pretty slim unless they're a pop-culture reference, whining, or something absurdly generic, like "truth is" or "I'm going to work then the mall", etc.

A few years ago I used to spend so much time on fb it was crazy. Now I go on it every other day, if that, and get bored and do something else within 10 minutes.

See, I told myself the first line, and I have tried to talk to tons and tons of people. By now, between classes and meals and welcome events I have probably casually bantered with maybe thirty women. And none seem to want to banter back. I can't even be respected enough to get rejected, because I can't even get to the point where its not more than mildly creepy to ask. I might, say comment on how both chemistry and intro to engineering classes that we happen to be in together were particularly interesting today for reason X, but the response I get in every scenario is an uninterested ok, or whatever, and then quickly pull out the phone to appear busy. At least I'm trying, I'm trying.

Well /sci/ you know about math/science/engineering classes. Are women in these supposed to be distant?
Also my math class is 85% male.

Groups
Everyone uses facebook, so it is easy to organize groups for sharing links, files, arranging meetings, etc.
Don't tell me skype, google groups, etc etc (I use those and more personally), because the majority of people are retarded and can't install shit or use new programs, but everyone has facebook.
