Then you can't compare a cake and a cooking analogy to mathematics, because you need to show and prove how you got to a logical conclusion.
Compare it instead to philosophy. (May not be strictly science, but it works as an analogy). You can't make some grand statement about life/society/human nature without showing the steps you took to reach the natural conclusion you have arrived at.
That's why there are books dedicated to explaining and justifying a certain philosophical thought, rather than a fucking pamphlet telling people that if they need proof then they can fuck off.
