from wikipedia

...[a] magnificent mathematical garb which fascinates, dazzles and makes people blind to the underlying errors. The theory is like a beggar clothed in purple whom ignorant people take for a king ... its exponents are brilliant men but they are metaphysicists rather than scientists ...[78]

I hold that space cannot be curved, for the simple reason that it can have no properties. It might as well be said that God has properties. He has not, but only attributes and these are of our own making. Of properties we can only speak when dealing with matter filling the space. To say that in the presence of large bodies space becomes curved is equivalent to stating that something can act upon nothing. I, for one, refuse to subscribe to such a view.[79]

Battletech was written with the idea of having an accurate timeline of human history from the present all the way to the future. It's not the same type of mecha as Gunbuster because it's meant to be more accurate to its history than Gunbuster.

It's not as awesome as Gunbuster because reality rarely is.

2011 scientists find evidence suggesting neutrinos can travel faster than light
2011 rumors spread on the internet
2011 everyone gets excited
2011 scientists listen, but are skeptical the systematics were handled properly
2013 other scientists reproduce the experiment, do a better job, find no anomaly
2013 nobody cares
2025 still no people have ventured beyond the moon
2107 mankind wiped out in global thermonuclear war

>> No.3786063

>>3785995
I don't see a problem, if you were to actually go read how a mech is built, you would understand that it actually isn't very far-fetched to have a chicken-legged mech.

Really, the entire timeline is actually really accurate. And is almost entirely how I would expect the next 1000+ years to play out.
