I was thinking, if you installed a net of this kind around the perimeter of a colony, would the rate of coral growth decrease in the center while it's 'focused' on the rim? Or would it grow faster on the rim and grow at the same speed in the center? I was thinking about a hull that mines the ocean by filtering from the water, but it would get all clogged and shit with coral growing on top.
