It’s amazing how the the human mind does not process the the fact I used the the word “the” twice each time in this sentence.

It simply has to do with the the fact that we don't actually employ our brain's resources in reading every single letter and every single word, or at least for proficient readers, but instead we process phrases and just go by what we expect to read.

At first I was like, wat.

Then I noticed the first 'the', and I was like, wow that's some freaky shit OP.

Then I kept reading the sentence over and over trying to recreate the effect of not noticing the first duplicated 'the'.

Then I read the the thread and realised that the the other two 'the's were also doubled and I hadn't even noticed, and I was like, OP, you have fucking destroyed my mind.

PS I just doubled all of the 'the's in the above paragraph. u mad?
