>The LHC is designed to recreate the conditions one millionth of a second after the Big Bang. If WDM is the dominant dark matter, however, the facility will not see a trace of the particles.

Troll thread from 4chon's /new/.

Sage, report, ignore.

Oh, man. I love speculative science. We don't even have to run any experiments, we can just say, "What if something really cool happened, but we don't know about it and can't prove it!"

>> No.3749435

These are two completely different problems. The phrase "God particle" refers to the Higgs boson, not dark matter. The Higgs boson is a very specific thing, either we'll find it where we expect to find it or something is amiss with our theory. If the LHC can't find dark matter, that's unfortunate, (although not worthless, since negative data is still data) but whether it can detect the Higgs boson is a completely different problem.

the only trolling i saw was people shouting "troll thread" and "samefag" so people wouldn't read the article

how the fuck is this trolling?

typical fucking scifags who are actually just edgy atheists, not realising the entire point of science is scepticism and refinement.

Science: We think of ways things might work that we publish and then test them to see if we're right, and we publish our methods so other people can test them too, and if we're wrong we know because of the tests and we admit it.

>If WDM is the dominant dark matter

then I would predict its average temperature to be 2.7K.

In this case there would be a chance that the next generation of cosmologists could wake up from the current hypnosis, namely, that next to nothing can come after Einstein and Lemaître.

Religion: We have this book that was written thousands of years ago that says the earth is 6000 years old. We know it's true because some magic sky man said so. THE BOOK ALSO SAYS MAGIC SKY MAN IS ALWAYS RIGHT, SO THE BOOK MUST BE TRUE!

HOLY TESTICLES, >>3749901, I think you might be on to something...
