GTFO. Medicine is low tier, only temporary prolongation of live, patching and fixing (badly) our bodies. In 50 years medicine will be obsolete. Every single patient you'll have will die, you did nothing but give him a bit more time to fuck the earth up with his/hers stupidity. Medicine --> shit that leeches off of the technological advance of our society. Chemistry and pharmacology are faaaar more important than medicine (though still low tier). And as far as surgeons go, its nothing more than a skill. Its like driving or swimming, purely mechanical finesse with no intellectual stress needed. Only memorise things and mechanically repeat stuff for the rest of your life. Again; GTFO!

Dont start till next week. It's a fucking SHIT Uni. In fact they have a cheek to call it a uni, it used to be a polytechnic college that churned out panelbeaters and PE Teachers. Gonna transfer to Glasgow University Master Race next year.

Firstly, no, they don't.
Secondly, my interests lie more in theoretical physics, for which cambridge is most knwon for.
Thirdly, Don't have champagne receptions, lavish 8 course dinners etc. for free at bath.
Fourthly... ah fuck it, there are far too many reason to choose cambridge over bath

Where: University of Nottingham
Why: Good reputation as a whole and for my chosen subject, the staff seemed more passionate than at the other unis I looked at, and the campus was lovely.

Why: A lot of scholarship money, and with parents help I'll graduate with ~12k depending on how much I work.
Major: CompSci and Philosophy
Satisfied: Pretty lonely, girlfriend just cheated on me and this school feels very cliquey and full of rich kids who paid their way in. I could have done worse

Where: Imperial College London

Why: Got rejected from Cambridge but accepted my Imperial, and It wasn't like Imperial was a huge step down anyway. +London and in particular South Kensington is an amazing place to live. Loads of things going on. Got Ronnie Scotts Jazz club not far from me in Soho, and Knightsbridge, so I can go and gawk at all the stuff that I can't afford in the mega expencive shops.

Major: Materials Science and Engineering

Satisfied: Yep. I still have to do plenty work for my course, but compared to the guys doing the hard core Sciences and Engineering disciplines, I defo do less. That gives me more time to fuck around and enjoy myself though, so I ain't mad in the slightest.

I was met with hostility when I went up there for an open day at Strathclyde. I should have spotted warning bells when the lecturer said "we have people from as far South as Yorkshire", and the fact that over 90% of people were Scots. When some student was showing us around the Chemistry building, she asked where were all from and I said "Leeds", and then the Scot wankers glared at me and shouted "Scotland is better". Fucking fat thieving cunts. Edinburgh is nice though, I loved it there.

SUNY Stony Brook

>Why

I sucked in high school and didn't apply until I was 20. They are also really cheap and I live close so I save by commuting. I was also under the impression they were good for science/engineering.

>Major

Initially it was Physics, but I switched to Electrical Engineering.

>Satisfied?

Fuck no. All the professors are chinese and I can't understand them, there's not many recruiters for internships, it seems like a university in decay because all the websites are old and not updated with dead links. I want to do research but my professors are all unapproachable.

I doubt I could transfer out, since you need good recs for that, and I couldn't afford anything but heavily subsidized ivy league tuition anyway. They wouldn't take me regardless.
