personality types
There was a thread earlier, and I was wondering what are the best tests on the web. This is the one from the thread earlier:http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp

any other test sci would suggest?

it's best if you get a legit test from a person. the person who did mine was a friend who was studying psychology and did the myers-briggs stuff for shits and gigs

il search google for longer test with more questions and defined results

Clinical psych here. Myers Briggs is a very useless personality test, get the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory instead. Or if you have an EEG or an MRI and some spare time, test your baseline cortical arousal and bring me the results.

inb4 200 INTJ's

Unfortunately, unless you want to get a thorough comprehensive (paid) examination, the one at humanmetrics will about about the best you can do, I think.

yeah, this.

I'm kind of sick of everyone wanking over their Meyers-Zodiac result like it actually means anything.

Same thing with fucking online IQ tests. Take a real IQ test or shut the fuck up.

The only real thing that IQ tests check is if you are stupid enough to pay for one.

I'm INFJ and I have contempt for most of my INFJ comrades. They're usually hipster faggots who are brittle, and who's emotions are without principle, conditions or reason. This usually manifests itself in horrible masochism and weird self-induced superstition slavery. I want to punch their sentimental faces in.

...halp? :(

I love how /sci/ consistently dismisses psychology as not science, but when there is thread on Myers-Briggs it becomes INTJ/INTP circle jerk.

Personally, I have gotten so many different results from the test that I feel it has to be either bullshit, or largely dependent on feelings and circumstances at the time, ie. useless.

The accuracy of the test depends on your ability to answer questions objectively. You should have someone else answer the questions for you.

this is a talk with UCLA professor and author, Dario Nardi who did research on how people with different personality types use their brain in fundamentally different ways. Pretty interesting

INTP here. I've always thought that I probably don't rely on my memory as much as many others. I prefer to know how to derive formulas in math or science than to memorize them.

Either I adapted that way because my memory is poor, or my memory is poor because I contextualize information differently.
