Right, because a college degree will help you scavenge food and fight off raiders/zombies/CHUDs.
You don't need an education to kill someone and take their stuff.

Only a retard would go looking for a JOB after getting a Ph.D.

If you have a Ph.D. then you need to go to a research college and figure shit out. If you have a Ph.D. and whine about "QQ no job" then you must be unworthy of your Ph.D. ... fucking idiots.

Fucking aeros and their elitist attitude. I mean why do you even get a flight test? Wtf, what has flying a piston engined car got to do with your degree? They're are literally no design ops for aeros unless you're going to work with a car company or formula 1 team. That's like 100 people going for the same role.

Where as you could have just studied mech, and done practically anything after uni.

I'm actually still second year.

Its probably not what you think it is. That doesn't mean you can't find it satisfying.

>> No.3700496

>>3700426

Do mechanical. Thousands more job prospects, plus you'll boss your way to manager in no time.

Mechatronics is hash-bashed subjects from 2n-3rd year electronics and software engineering. You don't get an in-depth knowledge of any; just a broad enough basis.

Aero has the least prospects. There's hardly any aero companies and they're all based on government subsidy. If you want to design for energy/car firms, you have to compete with mechs, who have a better knowledge of heat/flow etc. Same with any job you want to go for that's not aero. Here in the UK, aero graduates either go to BAE or RR. That's it. LMAO.
Aero's have a better knowledge of, umm, the way things act in flight? That's about it.

Study pure mech. If it's from a decent uni, you'll be guaranteed a job. And if you're lucky, you could move to aussie land where the money is. I know they're asking every "senior" engineer to come over, and it's like 130K+-AUD. Getting a graduate placement is a bit harder though, try and get friendly with management. Email them personally, etc.

Yeah, I basically ruled out doing Aero a while ago but it was still an option.

I enjoyed the small amount of programming work we did last year, which made my interest in Mechatronics rise.
However, this semester I'm doing a first year electronics course and I can say that it's not awfully fun at all. In fact I can't seem to understand why anyone who pursue a telecommunications degree or something of the sort.

Also, I'm already studying here in Australia at UNSW so Mech might be a fitting choice.
