What the fuck is up with everyone thinking their IQ is 130+? Internet quizzes or something? I've heard lots of people say 150-170, even, and I rarely see them get told for it.

Do you guys seriously think you're part of the <2% of all humans that has an IQ of over 130?

The average IQ on /sci/ is probably 100. and that's bad for a science board.

Having a high IQ doesn't preclude a person from melting their MENSA card to the laminating machine.

Well, given that smart people tend to be socially reserved and people who are socially reserved usually stay inside and somehow find 4chan... OR other forums where they can talk about science and math... AND given the fact that 2% of 7,000,000,000 people is 140,000,000... and of course the fact that what, 30-40 people post on /sci/... I'm gonna say yeah, most people here are probably approaching the 130 level.

>> No.3699159

the average for 4chan is probably 105-110.

/sci/, /lit/, and /g/'s is higher.

>> No.3699176

the dumb people are too stupid to realize their IQ isn't above 130, and the smart people really do have 130 IQ.
Ergo, everyone thinks they have an IQ above 130.

I actually do have an IQ above 130 because I managed to get a perfect score on Sat math and Sat math subject test 2 without studying first try. Which apparently, alot less than 1% of people can do.

>> No.3699181

mensafag, I'm in that 2%.

currently considering ISPE membership, since I'm also in the top .1%.

not sure that it means anything though. I'm in good company but that doesn't make me anything special.

>> No.3699188

Scored 134 on an IQ test conducted at Rice University. IQ is bullshit and in the real world EQ is more important.

>> No.3699186

I am convinced someone boasting of their IQ doesn't have enough social intelligence to have an IQ as high as they say it is.

I normally don't talk about mine, and I haven't taken any tests due to even the Mensa being fucked and language biased(makes no sense for an IQ test), but realistically I'd say it's around 110, give five for my ability to tell you all of the notes in a train whistle and how far away they are in pitch from notes recognized by the western world, take five for my lack of constructive visual mental skills.

If it was 130+, I would be depressed for humanity, because that means someone who literally strains their limited mental skills like me is in the top 2%.

I've been tested by my elementary school twice, the military once, and by my favorite psychiatrist most recently.

I honestly don't give a fuck about my IQ, I've gotten used to being surrounded by idiots.
