(n-2)!/(n-2)! = 1

n!/(n-2)! = n*(n-1)*1 = n(n-1)

n! = n * (n-1) * (n-2) * (n-3) * ... * 1
(n-2)! = (n-2) * (n-3) * ... * 1

therefore, after division, only n * (n-1) remains
