Do different fruits on a plant all have the same DNA?

>> No.3677806

yes you fucktard, their of the same orgenism nd that's what dna essentially is (deoxyribosenucleic acid0) im assuming u dont know that

>> No.3677811

The fruit is a part of the plant, yes.
The seeds?
That's basic fuckin' biology.

>> No.3677820

No. each fruit is polinated seperately. Allowing for more diversity.

Not sure if this holds true for fruit that grows in clusters or pairs, like cherries

my god you two are retarded, go take bio101 before your stupid ass talks again.

>>3677820

this nigga has the right idea, since each fruit comes from a different flower, and each flower is pollinated separately, then each fruit will had a different mixture of genes from the parent plant. If your dumbasses need an example, its like when people fuck. The pollen is the semen, the flower is the va-jay-jay, and the resulting fruit is the placenta, with the seed inside being the actual fucking baby. my god, the fact that there are people in this country who don't know this makes me understand why bachmann is up in the polls.

fruit is like a plant's baby?

no you stupid motherfucker, the fruits are the placents, the seeds are the fucking babies.

So do all the seeds in one fruit have the same DNA?

>> No.3677920

was thinking the flesh was produced by the plant itself.

pollination, bro. It's how plants sex it up.

>> No.3677972

>>3677862
You're ignoring the fact that the fruit is produced by the tree, while it's only the seeds that have new DNA.

>> No.3677975

wait, do the fruits share the same DNA as the seed inside or the mother plant?

>> No.3677976

The cells of the fruit.
Google it.

I just remember my bio 102 class comparing parts of fruit to parts of eggs. I am assuming that means the fruit is part of the new organism. Could be wrong though.

>> No.3678043

Yes, unless it's a chimera.

A chimera is when one tree is grafted onto another. Apple tree chimeras are common on orchards because you can have a tree that produces more apples than normal because the root structure is from another tree.

I haven't heard about this but I suppose it should be possible to have several different types of fruits all in one tree if you were to mix and match branches from several different species. Each branch would produce the fruit from the tree species that it originated and the seeds would have the same genetic material as the original plant. So if you try to cultivate the seeds from a chimera you'd end up with an ordinary tree.

I don't think there is any limit to how many species you can graft into one plant. So theoretically you could have one tree that produces apples, peaches, cherries, and blueberries. Would be cool to have a tree that can grow strawberries but I'm pretty sure even if you successfully grafted strawberries to at tree it would die out after a year simply because they don't live that long.

Yeah the flesh is a product of the zygote used in protecting the endosperm.

>> No.3678109

Is the flesh like the zygote or like the placenta? Because I'm pretty sure the placenta isn't part of the babby and has the mother's DNA.
