Comp sci major here; I got a C in Calc II, but understood everything perfectly. I failed the first couple months badly because I was too busy with work/family problems and was able to bring my almost complete absence of grades up to a C.

Is that C going to come back to bite me in the ass later on, /sci/, if I apply for graduate-level studies?

no. It's a C.

So a C isn't almost as bad as being a horrible failure?

Excellent. Thanks.

Look at graduate admissions. Many require 3.2gpa or higher

1 c over 40 classes give you a 3.95 if the rest are ases

anyone brings it up, you tell them the story. 0 to C in one semester is actually a success story

depends where you planned on studying. you should realize that harvard is completely out of the question now.

Man, Calc 2 was a bitch for me also.

I had to retake it, twice, to finally get a C.

Calc 3 and 4 were a piece of cake for some reason, got A in both of them from the first time. Actually, all other math classes were cake compared to Calc 2. Duno why.

Couldn't really blame it on a teacher either, all 3 times I took Calc 2 were with different teachers.

Khan blames poor scores in higher subjects on a hole in basic knowledge. If you unferstand 95% of a class you still get an a. But that 5% could stack with other 5%s to cause learning problems later on. By taking calc 2 several times before passing, you most likely refortified your knowledge and filled in previous gaps, allowing for a quick grasp on calc 3 and 4
