Hey capitalists, how come the state-planned Cuban and Vietnamese economies grow far faster than the major capitalist economies of the United States, United Kingdon, France and Germany?

>> No.3646806

>Diminishing returns

>> No.3646818

Holy shit, why do the US, UK, French and German economies grow negatively (collapse)? Is it because free-market is far more efficient than those shitty slow planned economies?

>> No.3646840

State-planned economies have not experienced credit-crunches, simply because the bank can not choose to stop lending money out. This has (partly) stopped econ growth in the western countries.
This has also been the case for China. They have very high econ growth, but to call it a healthy economy is a simplification.

Referring to your graph, Solow growth models with catching up effects, could be one possible explanation.

>> No.3646843

Are people still trying to sell planned economies as a good thing? In 2011? GTFO.

>> No.3646858

>>3646843
Planned economies would be likely to replace many capitalistic economies in the near future due to capitalism being so inefficient that it's collapsing not only in the US, but also in the major capitalistic countries.

Whatever you say comrade. You keep waving the red flag and drinking the cool-aid, I'll be busy enjoying the fruits of the most efficient, most effective, and most equitable economic system ever invented.

Democratically planned economies, you can't have one without the other.

>> No.3647039

Actually, that makes sense;

the macro-structure is anarchistic with each corporation at each others' throats instead of cooperating to further mankind and science.

the micro-structure, however, is a bunch of hierarchically organized units with too much of a disconnect between labor and management to run very efficiently.

>Not sure if troll or just stupid

You realize a Democratic Economy refers to one in which workers, not private enterprises or stockholders, control the means of production, correct? It is indeed a market economy and is not planned at all. In fact, the only industry that the government is actually responsible for are the ones that shouldn't be operating on a for profit basis in the first place.

Here are the graphs of GDP per capita of Cuba vs former Eastern block countries choosing capitalism instead of planned economy.

As you can see several of them were even poorer than Cuba at the time Soviet Union fell and now have up to 4 times higher GDP per capita.

So my question to you, Mr. Socialist, is - how does it feel you have to lie and misrepresent to advance your views?

>> No.3647169

Vietnam has only had a free economy for a few years and Cuba suffered massive collapses so it's less growth and more recovery.

This has to be the most misused claim of logical fallacy ever. It's as though anyone who bandies this about doesn't understand what a "definition" of a word is.

Since you provided no actual argumentation, I can only guess what you were trying to imply.

To put it simply, if someone says that "The Free Market" economy can be defined by a certain set of criteria, then any economy which does not fit that criteria is not "Free Market", it's something else. So when you point to "something else" as counterexamples to claims regarding "the free market" it's perfectly reasonable to say, "well that's not an example of a free market."

"No True Scottsman" is typically the cry that follows from being called out on straw-man logic.
