Are quantum mechanics considered chemistry, physics or both? If both, which does it predominately belong to?

>> No.3616017

I would say physics, but some of it does apply to chemistry

>> No.3616023

physics mostly, it is apleid in chemistry too but is overwelmingly phisics..

chemical reactions have nothing to do with particle interaction
it's almost entirely physics, i should know, i'm a physics major!

>> No.3616044

Particle physics is my guess but I could be wrong.

>chemical reactions have nothing to do with particle interaction

electrons aren't particles?

Well excuse me then.

>> No.3616064

Chemistry is physics.

physics is
"how fast was this car going, here use this formula"
chemistry is where anything of value is actually at.

inb4 philosophy

>> No.3616077

I think quantum mechanics pertain to quanta which are packets of light energy or the force carrying particles of light.

physics is just a bunch of philosophy. QM will be revised in 100 years when we can see smaller than 10^-17 meters. until we can see 10^-34 meters I find physics to be a crock of shit. and thats why i chose engineering.

i see the car in shambles to the side of the road, you may want to revise your theorem.

You clearly haven't taken anything beyond highschool physics.
