Got the book, cba turning to the dictionary every stoner word Sagan produces out of his stoner mouth, so I've been advised to watch the series, does it teach that much?

Just sounds like he is off his tits all the time.

Its great and will be an interesting read

wont hurt you to read it even if it is bs

>> No.3610740

Not as much as you'd learn from some textbooks.

>> No.3610810

So I should read the book before watching the series? - OP

>> No.3610828

cosmos is pretty out of date these days, at least on some of the astronomy stuff

it's still mostly decent though

>> No.3610857

I can't wait for new series with Neil Degrasse Tyson to air.

Cosmos is great and Sagan is a personal hero of mine.

I'd suggest watching Carl Sagan's Cosmos, then Stephen Hawking's Universe, then the new Cosmos with Neil deGrasse Tyson when it comes out.

>> No.3610899

What's best about "Cosmos" is how Sagan combines the history of science to modern physics and astronomy and tracks humanity's primitive start and interstellar potential future. Overall, epic is the only word that comes to mind.

>> No.3610919

Cosmos is oudated now, but damn it is very poetic.

>> No.3610954

better watch the award winning universe series of history channel, or the series from the discovery channel with morgan fucking freeman

Why, are you 11?

>> No.3611175

It is outdated, but it does teach you some basics about astronomy and evolution. It's well written too, so it's fun to read.

>cba turning to the dictionary
>cannot into English

Put the book down and go do something you're actually good at.

Like serving hamburgers.
