Behold this wonder of glorious Kermunist engineering! Not two days ago three of our intrepid kermrades lead by Jebadiah Kerman became the first Kerbals to successfully launch as satilite at escape velocity and return to Kearth alive! Using the same design of vessel, our heroic kermrades will attept to launch a satillite into a geosyncronous orbit and return! This is a glorious day for all of the KSSR! Aproximately 11 hours from now when our heros have safely returned to Kearth there will no longer be any doubt in all of Kearth as to the superiority of our Kermunist system over that of the hateful kerpitalist and also the bravery and determination of the Kersviet people!

The first stage is away! This ship, using unmodified stock rocket components, is truely a testament to Kersviet bravery and skill!

Launching into space aboard a ship made out of Mountain Dew cans and a paperclips and powered by the shockwave of an atomic fucking bomb? Not a problem for Jebediah Kerman: THRILLMASTER!

Frankly, I'm amazed this rocket didn't fall apart while it was sitting on the launch pad.

The third stage is mostly complete and the ship has begun its tilt to achieve the most fuel efficient path towards reaching the glorious objective! Conservation of fuel is important because the kersmonauts will need as much as possible to make orbital corrections on their way up to geosyncronous orbit.

Thats why it is imperitive for a brave Kersmonauts to have impeccable reaction time so that they can press 't, spacebar' as fast as Kermanly possible.

All my large ships never took off/exploded instantly/fell to bits. Gonna try again.

Never really felt the need to go into orbit. For me it's all about getting up as high as you can.

The ship has reached it's third stage as our brave kermrades hurtle towards the necessary velocity which will take them to the correct altitude at which to launch the satillite.

>> No.3598275

>>3598254

This ship can launch it's satillite at escape velocity and then return safely. A geosyncronous orbit launch and return is a bit more tricky than that though. Notice that there is only one solid booster as a retro rocket for the capsule. Better be careful during the return burn, lol.

>> No.3598279

what is this?
looks cool

>> No.3598329

OP, your satellite will remain in orbit with those tanks/booster attached :(
Also
Have you ever deorbited your main capsule, but left previous stages in orbit and watch them pass over you?

>>3598329
Actually nevermind, I think from the ground to low kearth orbit the game doesn't render small objects like rockets.

>> No.3598342

No there is a disconnector on both sides of the satillite.

No, once i deorbit, the other parts I left up are too far away from the ship to be in camera view.

Maybe in the future it'll be possible to launch a space station into orbit that is actually visible from the ground.

Our heros have exceeded the necessary velocity needed to reach geosyncronous orbit, but with over 2000 delta v remaining in this stage, things appear to be going very smoothly. All glory to the KSSR!

As the brave kersmonauts drift onward we must wait a few short hours in anticipation for the time which our heros will deploy their payload and make the perilous retro-burn which will ultimately decide their fate! Will they be successful in their mission? Must they make the ultimate sacrifice for the glory of a Kersviet geosyncronous satellite? Or will they survive their perilous jouney and live on in eternal glory!?

Mishun Accomplished! The satellite has been lanched into it's desired orbit!

Now our triumpfant heroes must make one last burn with their single solid retro-rocket in order to return home. The ship will incur a delta v of just over 1000 km/s which is greater than the ship's current orbital velocity. This is the moment of truth! Shortly we will see how many long minutes of training have paid off for our brave pilot! KEEP THAT GIMBLE STEADY JEBEDIAH!!!
