When I lay down reading or working on my laptop, often start hearing my own pulse. It becomes louder and louder, and I feel it in my head and ears besides listening to it.
I noticed that I'm usually breathing very slowly when it happens, so when I start breathing faster, or stand up and do anything that requires 'more breathing' the symptoms disappear.

What's happening to me?

You are focusing on the sound from your own body, probably because there is few other sounds distracting you. Protip: Visit a hospital with a sound isolation chamber (98.9% isolation), you will eventually hear your nerves.

Happens all the time to me bro.
When I sit down I notice my heart rocking my body back and forth a little bit.
With my ear against a pillow I hear it really loudly and it keeps me up at night.
I even sleep on the right side of my body so my heart doesn't vibrate the bed.
