- Sorry for maybe dumb question and weird English-

8/10 = 4/5, right?

But in probability theory, that don't make sence for me.

I mean: If you have 10 cards, numbered 1-10, it's 8/10 chance that i DON'T get 1 or 2.

But if you have 5 cards, numbered 1-5, its 3/5 chance that you DON'T get 1 or 2.

But 10/8 = 5/4 wasn't it?

But apology for this - perhaps - dumbest question..

not sure if troll.
2 cards seleting from 10 is 2/10 which cancels down to 1/5
2 cards selecting from 5 is 2/5, which doesn't cancel.

1 & 2 get divided by 2 into one "unit," along with the division of 8/10 to 4/5.

OP you're doing it wrong

if you pull 2 cards of 10 in the same event (its important that its the same event) then you have a 20% chance of getting the desired card.

if you pull 2 cards out of 5 in the same event its a 40% chance that you get the desired card.

20% is not equal to 40%. so you trying to relate 2/10 to 2/5 doesn't work.
