/sci/ Biofag here - I'm getting a total boner over space/space exploration etc.. atm. Anywaay on to my point - just been doing reading about water evidence on water in the past, the evidence to me seems overwhelming, is it pretty much accepted that mars did once have water? Or are there still people who disregard the idea if so what evidence is there to say there wasn't?

hungover and tired sorry for any typos/spelling mistakes.

There are continent-sized regions that are 60% water ice by mass.

I haver never heard of a single individual so much as doubt the past existence of liquid water on Mars. It would be impossible given its geological features, both macro and micro.

Hey NASA, you know where there's lots of liquid water? Europa. Also, sources of hydrothermal energy. Let's look there instead, okay?

For sending people to, sure. But if you actually want to discover life, Europa beats Mars.

I can't see a thing under Europa's ice.
It has ice on it with cracks in the ice. Well, if there's cracks in the ice it must be moving on an ocean. If it's an ocean under ice, it must be full of water. If it's water under the ice it might be a really big ocean. If there are hydrothermal vents there might be a good temperature and mineral content. If there's a good temperature there might be lift. If there can be life, there might even be, fish.

Observation: Ice
Conclusion: Fish.

Tidal flexing is what accounts for the inference of hydrothermal activity. Unless Europa's core is made from some exotic mineral not subject to gravitational stresses, Europa is geologically active, and the only place for the energy to go is into the water.

This is what your Hampture experiments were working towards.
Truly objectivist hamsters shall thrive not in the depths of the Atlantic, but the oceans of Europa! Fully removed from the parasitic influence of Earth based rodents!

Or just for the sake of sending hamsters to space, either or.
