I've found that the average Chinese/Japanese person is better than the average European/American when it comes to science and engineering.

I remember reading once that Asians have some neanderthal DNA in their own DNA, and thus, may have a slightly higher brain capacity than us western folk. As to why all breaking scientists have been Western, they fail to account of all the rockets and dynamite, and paper inventions the asians came up with thousands of years before Europeans.

This is because, in the end, what Asians focus all their energy on is memorization. Rigid automation of everything they learn. Rarely do they absorb the intuition that is involved as well, at least not deeply enough to actually produce anything innovative. It comes from their culture, where their parents are extremely hypercritical about their GRADE performance. It teaches them to preoccupy themselves with speed and appearances.

I can confirm this, my asian friends who were born/raised/schooled here, did this. This is because asking for help is akind to admit defeat or show signs of weakness in most Asian culture. Whereas, asking for help is accepted as a steping to getting thing done here in North America. It doesn't say anything about intelligent though.
