ok so i'm going into year 11 next year (inb4 underage b&) and i'm thinking of doing physics, chemistry biology, three unit math and advanced English. I need one more subject that i don't have to take seriously, but i can't decide between drama, software design, electronic engineering or a language (German, Italian, Japanese or French). Someone help decide?

>> No.3494679

Going for the good subjects so far, why not keep it up with engineering?

yea but i figured i should have a creative outlet to stop my head from exploding

>> No.3494708

well that went well, cheers for the input guys

I vote for language, either German or French.

With those subjects I guess you're wanting to go into uni, it'll only get even more stressful, may aswell work your way into it by taking the harder subjects now.
Besides, you don't want to have to be dealing with the socially-retarded artsy kinda kids, do you?

yea very good point

Normally I'd report but I'll let it slide this time because you're genuinely wanting help on an important matter.

With that said, this guy >>3494717 is pretty spot on. It's better to get into the habit of dealing with high workloads and such early on; for the majority of people your study ethic and so on is developed throughout high school.

cheers for the advice and for not reporting it. Much appreciated.

Languages are becoming much more valued by universities. I think it's UCL that demand all undergrads have at least a C in a foreign language.

However, I'm not sure if you can get off with "not taking it seriously"

When he goes to work for any decent international firm in the field of his choice, everyone at that level of expertise will be speaking English anyway

And having a language will boost his chances to get into a good university to get a good job in his chosen field.

I doubt Drama or Software Design would be beneficial if he isn't choosing to go straight into apprenticeships, straight after school.
