Horses, gazelles, etc can give only short bursts of moderate speed running.
kangaroos, while very effecient at walking, can't move quickly at all and thus aren't "running" nor are they "long distance"

Humans can, over the period of many hours, outrun a horse or gazelle through moderatly-paced endurance running.
