Short answer: read "Red Mars". Long answer: invest trillions of dollars into terraforming a planet we don't currently have any need to terraform, essentially wasting money and scientific data in order to begin a process that MAY have benefits at some unknown point in the future? I'm pretty sure two seconds of thought will provide you with much better uses of the money.
