/sci/ I need to find out where I can possibly find some textbooks for free, or at least dirt cheap. I have checked several torrents without any luck, so I was hoping you guys could help. Specifically, I am looking for:

Chemistry - Zumdahl - 8th Ed (Study Guide would be nice too)
Physics for Scientists and Engineers - Giancoli - 1st Ed
Civil Drafting Technology - Madsen - 7th Ed

PDFs are preferred, but I was just hoping that yall had some tricks to getting around paying for these expensive books that you would be willing to share!

Basically, I am shit broke and need to not pay $500+ for these. Really, I cant afford more than $100, which I realize is asking a lot, but that's just the situation I am in. My financial aid is on hold ATM, so I need to figure out wut do?

If anyone has old hard copies of these, I would be interested.

Chances are, there will be 30 people jockeying for the 8 reserve books the library holds (at best). This isn't as good a strategy as it sounds.

I have them. But FIRST you have to pay the $100.

Find a friend who has the textbooks.

Meticulously scan every page of it onto your computer.

Far from ideal, but a possibility.

library.nu (gigapedia) has the first 2. You're on your own for the third one, though.

You'll have to download djvu, but then you can convert it to a pdf if you'd like.

>You'll have to download djvu,
Sumatra (PDF) has support for that, and it's also not a bloated pos like the stock adobe reader

OP here. what resources do you generally use for finding textbooks? besides torrents, are there any good collections i am missing out on?

thank you very much!

College textbooks are a rip off. I have often dreamt of scanning my books and posting them online just for some payback. Mthrfckers.
