Are you ready for it?

....Your memories are in 2D.

Recall a memory now, watch it in motion. It's 2D.

But you cannot percieve depth. Come to think of it, the mind's eye itself seems to see only in 2D.

Depth perception. My memories don't have it and try as hard as I can, I can't picture anything in my head with proper depth perception.

I can still see depth in my memories, so no

Maybe you're just shitty at remembering spatial properties/

eyes only see in 2d. Depth computations are a result of movement. If you don't move, or your environment doesn't, you won't judge depth completely or accurately.

memory of vision and memory of the spatial organization used to navigate it seem to be different.

>> No.3366860

Assembly of your two eyes' input into 3D doesn't happen consciously. There's a lobe of your brain devoted to it. Something tells me it's stored in such a way that the optical lobe isn't employed to visualize those memories as it'd fuck with your normal vision.

It's not just movement, there's also parallax and other cues like one thing being in front of another.

>eyes only see in 2d hurrdurr

Good thing I've got two of them so they can act in stereo and provide depth perception. It even works on completely stationary scenes while sitting still.
