so 10 divided by 5 is 2 right because you take 10 things and share with 5 people that makes 2 each, thats what i was taught anyway

so people were saying you cant divide by zero well, if you have 10 things and you share with zero (no) people then you have 10 left so that answer is 10?

i dont get why people find it so hard, my teacher said even einstein couldnt?

who do i tell about my theorys?

tell einstein.

1/1=1
1/.5=2
1/.1=10
1/.01=100
1/.001=1000
notice the closer u get the zero the large number.
lim x->0 1/x = infinity

so infinity = ten?
why isnt it a different number, is it because our maths system is based around ten?

WTF, Why ten?

>> No.3359516

Inb4

1/.3 = 3.33333333333
3.33333333 * 3 = 9.99999999
Therfore 9.999999999 = 1

your example gives the answer in the form of possession.
>10 things and share with 5 people that makes 2 each, thats what i was taught anyway
if 5 people includes yourself.
>if you have 10 things and you share with zero (no) people then you have 10 left so that answer is 10?
if you're not counting yourself then you don't have possession of 10 things. If you do count yourself you're sharing between 1 person.

You suck.

did u even read the op?

uhhhhh right so 10 divided by 0.5 that means half a person sharing them out does it? i think you'll find half a person will die genius, the answer is 20 though.

Dividing by zero yields infinity simply because it yields any number. Here's an example.

a=b
a+a=a+b /subtract 2b
2a-2b=a+b-2b /simplify
2(a-b)=a-b /divide by a-b (which is zero)
2=1

See what I mean? X/0=whatever you want. So yeah, 10 is in there somewhere.

>> No.3359586

If you divide 0 by ANY number it is always 0.

If you divide ANY number by itself (ie x/x) the answer is ALWAYS 1.

so 0/0 would have to simultaneously be 1 and 0. There is also evidence that suggests it should be infinity, or negative infinity. In other words, dividing by zero can never give an answer. It isn't a thing you can do in math.

wow thanks thats really interesting
is that related to why we have 10 fingers (n toes lol)

which one is it though havent people done experiments

No, that's not true. First of all, infinite group of 0 is still 0. Infinite groups of 0 is not any number. Second, dividing by 0 isn't possible in the first place. The expression isn't valid if the denominator = 0.
