Felid refers to the family name, specifically Felidae, which can be used to define any member of the Felid family, such as lions and tigers.

Felis Catus is the binomial name, and specifically refers to the domesticated cat. Hence the colloquialism "Cat."

I'm telling you to post your cat, bro.

You have a file on your computer blocking the itatlics function.

The full installation is over a gigabyte, and then you still need some editor. Latex is not intuitive at all and takes time to get into.
/sci/ only uses a javascript script that emulates Latex formula typesetting in the browser so we can write fancy stuff like <span class="math">\mathcal M_s=\overline v(p_1,\sigma_1)\mathrm ie\gamma^\mu u(p_2,\sigma_2)\frac{-\mathrm i\left(g_{\mu\nu} - (1-\xi)\frac{k_\mu k_\nu}{k^2}\right)}{(p_1+p_2)^2+\mathrm i\varepsilon}\overline u(p_2',\sigma_2')\mathrm ie\gamma^\nu v(p_1',\sigma_2')[/spoiler].
