How does a cat know to shit in a litter box?

Don't even try because you can't answer this shit, none of you eggheads can communicate with a cat. Science has failed us yet again.

How does a dog know to catch a ball?

Don't even try because you know wild dogs don't hunt balls.

Because prehistory was chalk full of apple orchards whose fruit frequently flew around horizontally, right?

Actually its because dogs have been conditioned to retrieve kills over thousands of years. Just like some breeds point at animals despite having never been taught.

>implying the orientation of a falling object has a major impact on the mouth-eye coordination needed to snag it

In fact I'd wager one falling vertically would be more difficult to catch.

Also
