Do you guys have plans or images of old fashioned tech?

For a project in wood i need to build a platform that can move up and down. i was thinking something with chains and levers and gears.

sure i can design something myself, but why waste the tried and true work of the old times?

If you're British, try the natural history museum and the Imperial War Museum.

Or go speak to some old guys. Former engineers, technicians, draughtsmen etc. My grandfather was an engineer for Rolls Royce and he had dozens of blueprints, schematics and plans in his house.
