How do I solve this? I divided the d's and was left with y/x = 3x^2. Then I multiplied each side by x and got y = 3x^3 but apparently thats wrong.

Help.

dy/dx means y differentiated by x.
integration is the opposite of differentiation. so if you integrate the left hand side with respect to x, you get just Y, and if you interate the left hand side you get x^3.

to integrate an x term, add 1 to the power and then divide by the new power.
so start with 3x^2, add 1 to the power and its 3x^3, and then divide by the power, which is 3, so you just have x^3

this means:
y = x^3
