Every mathematical theorem ever proven in the 2500 year history of mathematics is still valid today.

90% of the historically accepted theories in physics, chemistry, or biology that are more than 50 years old are discredited and forgotten today.

Math > all.

Isn't physics based on math and therefore math is crap. The math worked out for all their theories and was still wrong.

It should be a /sci/ rule that any mention of Godel be followed with mfw

physics is not math, it just uses math.

math does discover reality, but not the kind that progresses inventions and empires

Math represents rules in a universe defined by the axioms you choose. What you prove in math is only true under those axioms, things that may or may not hold true in the universe at large.

It is the realm of Physics to determine what the axioms of nature actually are. Theories that no longer hold are replaced by those ever closer to the truth.

Put another way: Math describes a realm you imagine. Physics describes the realm you imagine in. Mathematicians are the engineers creating the tools we use in physics to understand the cosmos.

spoiler: math is outside the universe. Even God cannot know if the Continuum Hypothesis is true or false.

In the same way that the Lord of the Rings is outside the universe.

Change your axioms, and you can prove it.
