Hey sci,
I was wondering what (preferably non reactive) gases we could add to the atmosphere to change the colour of the sky to, say, green? Or yellow or something.

You're welcome to try chlorine to your room if you feel like seeing green. It's totally harmless, and you can get it from a variety of common reactions.

No I think I'm allergic to chlorine. I tried to make these crystals out of bleach and ammonia but I got really sick and they said I made chlorine gas. Whoops

Oh god, you actually fell for that trick?

That's an old troll. Mixing ammonia and bleach will make chlorine gas, hydrochloric acid and hydrazine.

neon actually has a green emission spectra amongst its others, but you'd have to excite it in a very specific way, and it would glow, not just filter incoming light

lol i was etching some circuit boards once with i think muratic acid and inadequate ventilation.

unexpected emission of even relatively small quantities of chlorine gas is an efficient method of pissing everyone off in your place of residence, and its like having cut up onions shoved in your eyes, and your body doesn't even want to inhale around it.
