cos (x) + cos (3x) = 1/2
Trying to find solutions for x over 0 < x < pi but I'm fucking clueless
Any help/clues/hints/anything?

cos (x) + cos (3x) = 1/2
cos^3(x)+cos(x)-3 sin^2(x) cos(x) = 1/2
cos^3(x)+cos(x)-3 sin^2(x) cos(x) = 1/2

replace sin^2(x) with 1-cos^2(x)
set y = cos(x)
now you have a polynomial in y
solve for y
get x
the answer is:
