Over 9000 years ago I was in a community college C++ class which took place in a smelly, unkempt room and had the typical ugly, unattractive student body (except me hurrr) you would expect for an undergrad computer science class and ONE female, who was well maintained and attractive.

they frequently find a problem, and approach it from many angles to devise a solution, then often SHARE the solution with other primates, who then improve upon it.

Then the technique is lost when a panther eats them because they lack the ability to store information outside their brains.

Community college computer science stories

I briefly worked with somebody at a computer lab on some data structures assignment. This classmate just happened to be an ugly Indian female who I did not even interpret as a sexual being. This encounter was completely uneventful.

I leave and then two male classmates who witnessed this sordid exchange make it known to me about my shenanigans and try to spread rumors because they're still in the all-girls-have-cooties stage of psychosexual development. Autism overload.

Don't see why I should care about this, though obviously these people should really just be getting a programming certificate at CC.

At my school the first year triumvirate of Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Statistics filters out about 90% of them. The remainder drop out half way through Calculus II.

I took a C class a few years back for my CS degree, and it was filled with a bunch of old and bored men going for an engineering degree, a few neckbeards here and there, a couple skinny, psychopathic looking chaps that would sit in the back and remain quiet for the entire class (this was at a community college). But there was this one really cute guy that was well dressed, laid back, nice, smart, and well spoken for himself, and was the best programmer out of all of us. We would have a test at the end of the week to review what we learn, and also try to solve problems we hadn't experienced yet in class, and these tests would take about half-an-hour to do for everyone else in class, but he was always done in 5 or 10 minutes and would be pretty much gone after class, pretty fast with his work. He started flirting around with me here and there, which I took as just friendliness because my self-esteem was too low at the time to think a guy would even waste his time with me, I found myself a bit fat, pale, and barely any boobage to said anything about.

>> No.3226440

>>3226436 cont.
Anyway, we started talking after a while, continuing flirting, which I started to do the same with him, but was always too shy and awkward to take it any further, but he was so patient with me and relaxed about everything, I actually felt better about myself to be around him. He eventually thought about dropping the class though, the reason he took the class to expand his knowledge on the language, he used to play around C/C++ in middle school, but felt like he wasn't learning anything in the class, and he would always push it off to do work for other classes; but apparently he only stayed as long as he did was just so he could hang out with me there. He tried to ask me out once, I was so surprised that anyone would want to do something like that with me that I didn't believe it at first, but he kept trying to talk me into it, and I really wanted to but just felt so nervous and awkward about it (never had a guy ask me to do anything with him) that I got too shy and said "no." This resulted in this distinct look on his face that I would never forget, like he misread my answer as if I wasn't interested in him like that, and he said "okay" coldly and wasn't back for the next class, or the class for that, or for the rest of the term, and I hadn't seen him since, basically gone forever. I think I fucked up my chances. 

Well I did see him around campus a month ago, he seems to be dating this hipster polish bitch that there’s just something about looking at her that makes me want to chew her out. But yeah, fucked up my chances with this guy because of my shyness, and now he’s with this cunt; shit sucks.

There were a handful of females in my CS courses. They were mostly pretty competent too, ages ranged from my own relatively young age (21) to older women whom I'm pretty sure were going back to college to pursue more advanced degrees.

The majority were still male, of course, but I'd say female presence in the field has certainly increased.

For the record, I'm pursuing a BS, the classes I refer to were high level (relative to a bachelor degree. Obviously not compared to a masters or PHD).

As for how I feel? I'm glad that whatever stigma may exist is fading, it means less people pursuing useless English degrees and the like.

It's like saying learning English isn't learning how to write an essay.
