Ok guys. I need help.

What is the relation between Coarse grained entropy and Thermodynamic entropy.

Ha, I remember the thread from 2 weeks ago (or so) where this problem first arose.

Information entropy is not the same thing as thermodynamic entropy, unless you define it in a very specific way. There is a relationship between them.

Coarse grained entropy is not information entropy strictly. It is also associated with Quantum and Classical stat. Mech. entopy. It arises from the physical phase space of real life systems when the actual phase points are coarse grained. If you were the same person who answered the question two weeks (or so) earlier, then you were wrong them. I did not pursue it because I wanted to be sure.

Please wait, I have to make some new Costanza pictures.

I don't see how it's not the same thing. This "coarse graining" you refer to is just uncertainty (a limit on the infomation) about the state of the system. The tendency of that uncertainty to grow over time is just information entropy increasing.

That's the dilemma to me. Most sources (including Susskind) claim that this the actual entropy as well.

It's the exact same thing unless narrowly (and artificially) defined. In thermodynamics the Boltzmann constant is used to derive a statistical measure.
