Hello /sci/
I have been experiencing pain in my side, every single time i go running... It usually hits me after a mile or so...
I know this is a very common problem, so i'm actually looking for both advice to how to get rid of it, and an explanation, as to why it is even happening? Preferably from a medfag!

TL;DR: Side pains while running, why? And how to get rid of?

>> No.3192762

exercise.

Everyone has the pain in the side when start running.

After days/weeks it will disappear.

Sounds like lupus

>> No.3192763

Run it off, seriously. After 2-3 minutes it goes away.

My P.E. teacher in year 5 told me it was to do with the food you had eaten or digestion or some shit like, but take that with a grain of salt.

Run it the fuck off.

OP HERE
Yeah... See, the problem is, i tried running it off, after 2-3 minutes, the pain increases to a level that completely stops me from running... The weird thing is, i'm in pretty good shape. My father runs a crossfit centre, and i train there 3-5 times a week.

Any technical explanation, as to why this thing even happens?

>> No.3192772

OP here, again.
Maybe i should rather post this on /fit/...
They are just so fucking retarded... Don't think they will be able to give a me technical answer...

At least this person understands the causal link OP, but as I assume you intend to continue to run, there is still a diagnosis to be made.

Though telling you wouldn't be any fun....

if this is a "stitch" try the following

deeper breathing

changing pattern of breathing

drink more fluids

don't eat for three hours prior

if it isn't that it could be a hernia, enlarged spleen, gall bladder issue, all kinds of shit. go to doctor

>> No.3192821

Medfag here: the pain is caused by intercostal muscle spasms from decreased blood flow due to rib compressions. You're leaning too far forward as you run. Pay attention to your running posture and try to lean back more.

The pain will pass more quickly if you touch your opposite elbow to your hips to expand the region.

It's your gallbladder. Have it removed immediately.

OP the key is breathing. Seriously. Long inhalation (2-3 secs) and half as long exhalation. Maintain this for the whole time, and you'll be okay.

You have Lupus.
