Have /sci/entists come up with a reason for naturally talented people? For example, I was watching a nightly news one time and they did a story about this kid who could write symphonies, play the cello like virtuoso, and conduct like he had been through the fucking Eastman School, but he was only like 8 or 10 years old. I'm another example. For some reason, I'm just a natural born fighter. I think the easiest way to explain it is sort of like CQC in the MGS games. My body just reacts naturally to attack and defense even though I have never had a formal martial arts class up until now. I'm taking Krav Maga and instead of using the techniques the instructor teaches I'm doing my own thing and I've been able to hold my own in sparing against the others. Another example are the ridiculous child prodigies that get calculus at the age of fucking 7 and go on to make theories in their teens.

So /sci/, what the hell is the deal with this natural talent stuff? Any ideas?

I should also note that the music kid's family had never ever been involved with music

According to /sci/, we are all born equal and the environment shapes some of us into geniuses.

Its one of the few vaguely connected proof of souls.

A dead musician is born again, and by some twist of the normal order manages to keep some of his memories or talents from the earlier life, thus an prodigy happen.

Or of course, secret Illuminati experiments on engineering children to have programmed skills.

My personal theory is that we're mostly equal at birth, but our 'luck' with people and experiences shapes our desires and personality. If the stars aline and someone has only good experiences with something and a little beginner's luck at a young age, they might grow a strong affinity for it.
