Would a UNIX/LINUX class be too much for a beginner with computers? I really want to take that class at CCSF, I'd like to be able to hack and etc (not hacking games), or should i start out with something such as a plain internet programming class?

Most of the computer underground subculture in the west are really dumb childish kids/manchildren who emulate the aesthetics of cheesy cyberpunk literature and media portrayed in pulp cyberpunk fiction and a perceived sort of nerd cool in a way that Keanu Reeves was in a bad movie trilogy and not actually stuff like security as it pertains to computing systems.

If they were, more people would be actually reading and practicing* legit stuff like Richard Stevens' (RIP) tomes on TCP/IP and network programming and not idling on IRC typing nothing but "RTFM" all the time and being worthless in general.
