Stephen Hawking says that there is no heaven. Guess this is why he can't win a Nobel piece prize.

>> No.3090933

What about a whole Nobel prize?

Samefag. no one spells peace like that even by accident. Even so, he set you up for that too well. I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul

You can use the G-word safely in here because most of the Dawkins cock suckers went to bed or are at work/school.

Hawking is overrated as fuck

I saw a page with his papers at the university and he has zero

He's just a sad man, bitter about his disability

Millions of less intelligent people cope with his situation while he blindly lashes out with hate

What's the difference between them I leave to you to figure out

>> No.3091215

>>3091173

Religiousfags really do think answering a question in a interview is 'lashing out in hate'. Anything that opposes their world view must be 'hating' or 'bitter'.

While the bigots are obviously dwelling in their parents' basement.

Oh the irony.

My dad said he'd lost respect for Hawking in light of this. Said Stephen is just a bitter little man.

I want to bitchslap him. Any way I can let him know what a douch he's being without turning him off to listening?

That's also why people consider even completely harmless guys like Daniel Dennett to be "militant atheists".

>> No.3091236

>>3091173

While i agree on the overrated as fuck part of your post, i disagree with him being bitter about his disease.

He clearly would not have had the power if he was caring too much about his condition.

>> No.3091237

Unless you are Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge University, you have no right to criticise.

He has contributed to science, you haven't.

Ask him how he thinks a Atheist should answer that question in a interview.

Cool textbook example of an ad hominem, bro.

If God doesn't exist how come he's lived like 10 times longer than predicted?

>> No.3091250

>>3091235

Exactly.

Because Christians rely on faith anything that questions their faith must be an 'attack'. To them any Atheist who is open about their lack of belief is militant.

he thinks atheists are bitter and misguided.
clearly he's correct in his non-denominational 'great spirit' indian bullshit theory.
Cause...some people who die on the operating table see heaven or hell, so obviously that's an objective piece of data to be considered.

Nice attempt at swerving the salient point. No homo was ever mentioned, it was a general statement.

However flawed a person or his views may be, his contribution to science is greater than anyone's here.

Then his beef is with all Atheists not just Hawkins.

There are over 20 different major religions, hundreds of smaller religions and thousands of sects and cults. When your father understands why he doesn't believe in those he will understand why you don't believe in his.

Now why would a famous physics guy get the peace prize? Shouldn't he be in line for the Nobel prize for physics?

>bitter about his disability

I would say the fact that's disabled and still doesn't force himself to believe in an afterlife, means he's pretty much at peace with his condition.

>> No.3091328

>>3091289
I've thought the same, but his non-specific belief allows him, at least in his mind, to diss any and all religions while maintaining his belief in a higher conciousness.
I'd be content just to leave him be in this 'faith', were it not for his constant statements along the lines of "I sure hope you find faith in something, kiddo, you need it".
Just for context, he doesn't think humans should expand to space, doesn't think we'll survive another century, and sees science as a novelty that cannot explain everything.
(he's not an idiot, but somehow these idiot beliefs are hardwired into him)

>> No.3091359

>>3091328

You will never change anyone's mind by arguing with them. By implying his beliefs are not true you are also implying he is an idiot... he then defends these beliefs all the more stronger to prove he is right and not an idiot.

Just ignore his bullshittery and when the subject comes up agree to disagree.

The fact is that most people don't rationally think their beliefs through... they just follow the beliefs of people the want to emulate.

Most scientists are atheists due to their work and knowledge... so most people who admire scientists or want to be scientists are atheists as well.

Eventually society will reach a point where believing in god will be viewed the same as believing in fairies.

>> No.3091366

Just agree to disagree and let it drop. You aren't going to be able to change his mind.

It's been over 2000 years and people are still dying for the concept. I wouldn't hold your breath in anticipation were I you.
