What is science, and your interpretation of its' definition?

Science is a way of discovering how reality and the universe works without depending on the opinions of goat-headers that lived 2000 years ago.

It is added to by people who sometimes get it wrong, but the majority of people that add to it genuinely want to improve peoples lives, and they do it for free or at their own expense, just in the hope of making an improvement with no personal reward.

Matter is arranged in a certain way. Stuff happens, then the results are noted. Science asks three questions:
How exactly was the matter originally arranged?
What exactly happened?
How does this relate to a similar arrangement of matter some other scientists were studying?

>> No.3072946

Creation.

Science is the applied philosophy of methodological naturalism (which includes the scientific method). It functions on two main assumptions:

1) That there is a continuing series of measurable causal processes in our reality, AND
2) These processes occur without supernatural intervention.

Science is, more than a body of knowledge, it's a way of thinking, a way of skeptically interrogating the universe.
