so i ran by this paradox again today. it's been a while since i thought about it. but i am having some trouble... isn't this paradox really just an issue with semantics?

i mean the cat is either alive or dead. just like if i flip a coin and put my hand over it. it's either heads or tails.

QM says the cat exists in both states until observed, but that just seems like an issue with the way the math works out. why is this such a big deal?

You'd have to be one incredibly egotistical asshat to think that the cat is both alive and dead until you observe its status.

Because if the cat is alive before you reveal it- you can strangle it

In harmonic analysis, when transforming between the time and frequency domains, local features in one domain appear as global features in the other. So when limited to finite, discrete samples, the more you know about features in one domain, the less you know about those features in the other.

So it's definitely a paradox, and not semantics.

Well... Since it's a cat, probability that it lives is higher than that of, let's say, a hamster.

It's not alive and dead at the sae time.

Firstly the experiment doesn't even say that, its been butchered by people who don't understand it who just watch Carl Sagan and go Herp Imma scientist now.

Also its intended to show how rediculous this interpretation of Quantum Mechanics is. It's deliberately stupid.

I cant be arsed to explain it again so just watch this.
