>oh cool a science board!
>post thread: "Hey I'm doin some Op Amp homework today. Op Amps are pretty sweet what do you guys think? Whats cool about them?"
>banned for "requesting homework solutions"
>science vs. religion trolls threads never banned

First of all, FAGGOTRY. Secondly, even if I HAD been, I happen to LIKE helping people with their science-related homework. What the fuck is the point of being good at a subject if you aren't willing to use your knowledge to help other people? Science is not some meaningless pissing contest where we post on a messageboard to show off how big our e^peens are. Last I checked, real scientists are people who are committed to using logic and reason to understand the world around us and to help contribute to human understanding of the world around us.

A lot of the time, when you are having difficulty understanding a topic, you don't have peers who are as readily available as you'd like and having access to a community of people with a similar experience who are equipped to help you figure stuff out would be really helpful.

If you don't like seeing people asking for help with something, don't reply to it. How could it possibly be any worse than all of the fucking atheist douchebag and science troll threads?

God forbid anyone should mistake /sci/ for a place where people can go to learn about and discuss science with any seriousness.

tl;dr

I rest my case.

Not that I'm planning on posting here much, since there are much better science boards. I just wanted to point out the faggotry.

Do as you will.

>getting Op Amp homework
>calling other people casual

You do have a good point though. SOME of the homework threads turn out interesting and you can SOMETIMES learn something.

The religion v science threads have gotten stale beyond belief and ultimately result in nothing. With homework threads at least one person should get something beneficial from it. And the other obvious trolls threads are getting tiresome

>>3033595

I dunno, Op Amps are reasonably complex systems, certainly worth of study. I think they're interesting.

And I defined casual in this particular case as someone who wasn't really interested in actually spreading scientific knowledge or using it to solve problems

Is that unreasonable?

There's your problem. Now go back to your book learning, college boy.

>> No.3033657

I know which post you are talking about OP but can you dig it up in the archive?

For some reason I can't search when I search for "OP Amp" nothing comes up.

Aw shit, I thought you were asking a question about the op-amp. Well in any case I feel sorry that you were banned for asking a question about a really nifty bit of kit. Are you studying this at university or highschool?

This is my intro to Elec Engr course. We were playing with some uA741's in lab the other day, pretty cool.

Same with me then. Shits me that we have to do lots of intro physics which is basically civ engineering stuff and all my friends who are civ eng are stressing out because of the work load, when we basically have to do civ and elec in first semester. Best of luck with your studies then.

I also wish the mods would ban everyone posting religion/atheism crap. I'd even like a wordfilter than bans you automatically if you mention words like "god", "religion", "atheists", etc.

I'm in analog electronics, studying non-linear op amps, diodes, and transistors at the moment.
